Job Title: Substitute Teacher
Reports to: Principal
Position: This is a contractor position
Job Function
Works to meet the unique needs of each child and co-labors with the teachers, team members and principal to nurture, train and cultivate each student in his/her care. Helps the student in the classroom, halls, restrooms, and during break and lunchtimes. Interacts with the educational team, students, and parents to meet the needs of each student.
Core Responsibilities
Serves as Substitute Teacher
- Assists in providing an active, interactive, inviting, exciting, and innovative learning environment for each student.
- Supervises students during class lessons and other activities.
- Helps reinforce skills and gives personalized assistance.
- Escorts students throughout the school day.
- Monitors students during assigned break times. Makes copies and prepares materials for lessons and special activities as requested.
- Keeps up with correspondence by way of email and staff mailbox, etc.
- Supervises students at morning drop-off, during break/lunchtimes, and at afternoon pick-up, as assigned.
- Engages in effective and appropriate classroom management.
- Ensures students are supervised at all times.
- Supports the vision and mission of PA.
- Demonstrates Christ-like behavior in all interactions and in daily life.
- May perform additional duties as assigned.

- Spanish language fluency is an advantage; Creole and Portuguese language is preferred
- Must be eligible to work in the US
Physical Demands
- Some physical exertion required
- Required to sit and /or stand for long periods of time
- Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up-to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed.

The performance will be evaluated in accordance with OH policy and per the PA evaluation model.
